ROOTED is a series of stream-of-consciousness poetic pieces that integrate external influences to spark internal dialogue. The first set of 35 were released on a book. These pieces serve as the “roots” that then are extracted and worked with in shorter form pieces. This was the first collection where I engaged with this process of using these pieces as the clay to then shape more abstracted wood panel and paper pieces, as well as one wood panel x stained glass hybrid piece.
